Advisory Committee for Persons with Disabilities

    • Promoting departmental awareness of accessibility and reasonable accommodation policies,
    • Identifying training needs and resources for managers and supervisors to increase sensitivity and awareness of issues relevant to persons with disabilities,
    • Assisting employees with disabilities in achieving career goals by providing guidance to internal and external resources such as newsletters,
    • Articulating concerns and perceptions expressed by persons within the disability community and employees with disabilities regarding applying to or working for the Department, and,
    • Reviewing the Department’s workforce data regarding hiring activities designed to achieve the representation of individuals with a disability to provide ongoing advice in the formulation and implementation of departmental plans to overcome and correct any underrepresentation as determined by the most current parity rate established by the California Department of Human Resources.
