Drug Recognition Evaluator Program

Welcome to the Drug Evaluation and Classification Program (DECP)

​The California Highway Patrol is the State Coordinator of all DECP training for the State of California.  These training courses include: Drug Recognition Expert (DRE), Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement (ARIDE), Standardized Field Sobriety Testing (SFST) and Drug Impairment Training for Educational Professionals (DITEP).  The courses are facilitate through a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety.
