On November 16, 2024, CHP’s Regional Enforcement of All Crimes Team (REACT) officers initiated a traffic stop along Interstate 5 in Sacramento County. Apparent alterations to the vehicle led to a deeper inspection, which was greatly facilitated by a REACT K9 unit in the field. The search led to the discovery of more than 120 pounds of methamphetamine stashed within secret compartments. The driver was arrested and booked into the Sacramento County Jail on several drug-related charges. This incident showcases the unwavering commitment of the REACT personnel in their collaborative pursuit to eliminate destructive narcotics from our communities.

The CHP, alongside the California Attorney General and numerous local, state and federal agencies, takes this opportunity to announce the successful completion of Operation Royal Flush. Initiated in September 2024, this collective endeavor was primarily aimed at combating gangrelated violence in Kings County. The operation resulted in 77 arrests, the confiscation of 32 firearms and the execution of 52 search warrants. It has helped solve multiple homicides and prevent eight violent crimes, highlighting our collective commitment to keeping communities safe.

On Friday, November 15th, the CHP conducted a retail theft blitz operation at the Las Americas Premium Outlets. At the request of numerous retailers, CHP’s Organized Retail Crime (ORC) investigators carried out a surveillance operation aimed at curbing retail theft and holding offenders accountable. The operation was successful, resulting in 23 arrests, 264 stolen items recovered and a total value of recovered merchandise at $11,612. Thank you to the retail establishments and law enforcement teams for their unwavering dedication and effort in safeguarding our community against organized retail crime. The CHP has dedicated ORC teams in Orange County, Los Angeles, and San Francisco who work with retailers to combat sophisticated crews that continue to victimize merchants throughout the state.

On November 19, officers at CHP Susanville demonstrated an exemplary commitment to service during a night shift response to a non-injury crash. Upon arrival, they assisted the individuals involved but also discovered a litter of 10 puppies needing care. Through quick and thoughtful actions, they ensured the welfare of these animals, confirming our mission to protect all members of our community - big and small, human or furry.

On November 20, a significant event transpired on I-15 near Cleghorn Road when Mrs. Accardo, in her 38th week of pregnancy, went into labor during her journey to the hospital. San Bernardino CHP Officers Zamora, Rafael and Carrillo promptly arrived at the scene, converting the freeway shoulder into a makeshift delivery room. They assisted Mrs. Accardo throughout her delivery with utmost care and professionalism until she could be safely transported to the hospital.

The mission of the CHP is to provide the highest level of Safety, Service, and Security.
