California Highway Patrol Academy
You have made the decision to become part of a remarkable organization. The California Highway Patrol is known as one of the finest law enforcement agencies in the world.
The road to becoming an officer will be a challenging one. You will be tested mentally, physically and emotionally on a daily basis. The purpose of the training regimen is to instill pride and discipline in each cadet. The CHP Academy will consist of an intense 26-week schedule that will train and educate cadets for a career in law enforcement. The final reward comes at graduation where cadets are promoted to the rank of officer. Soon after they will report to their assigned area offices to start their careers with the California Highway Patrol.
Cadets Episode 1 - Motivation
Cadets of CTC 1-22 commence on their challenging 26-week journey at the California Highway Patrol Academy. Over the next 26 weeks, they will be united by a single mission: to join the ranks of CHP Officers. These cadets are set to undergo rigorous training designed to test their physical strength and mental fortitude. Success is achieved by only the most dedicated. CTC V-23 Cadet Graduation Run - California Highway Patrol
On March 6, 2024, 105 CHP Cadets of Cadet Training Class V-23 participated in their Graduation Run, a customary event for each cadet training class. Their 5-mile run began at the CHP Academy and concluded at the California Peace Officers Memorial next to the California State Capitol. The Cadets received encouragement from family and friends throughout the route. Tomorrow's graduation ceremony will mark their official badge presentation, as they transition into the newest Officers of the California Highway Patrol. CTC V-23 Cadet Graduation Ceremony - California Highway Patrol
On March 8, 2024, the California Highway Patrol welcomed more than 105 of California’s newest members of law enforcement during a graduation ceremony at the CHP Academy in West Sacramento. The ceremony is the culmination of more than six months of rigorous training, hard work, and commitment. After 26 weeks of intense training, these officers will report to different CHP area offices across the state.
