On August 5, 2006, at 2235 hours, Oakland Area Officer Clearman,  #17843, was struck by a hit-and-run driver while investigating a traffic collision. On August 6, 2006, Officer Clearman succumbed to his injuries. Officer Clearman is survived by his wife.
